Description: The 13th International Conference on South Asia seeks to locate and assess political strands, practices and dynamics emerging in South Asia. Both South Asia as a region and its individual states are witnessing demographic, economic, technological, climatic and social changes that are impacting upon political discourse and practice. Established political, economic and social models are increasingly being debated. Furthermore, the emergence of various forms of social media and digital technology has given rise to new forms of socio-political mobilisation and notions of uthority, and has inuenced voting patterns. South Asia has also not been immune to global political shifts such as the rise of populism and rejection of established political frameworks. The ISAS annual international conference is a signature event of ISAS involving the participation of policymakers, government representatives and business leaders.
