Naoroji – Pioneer of Indian Nationalism

    Dinyar Patel

    22 January 2021

Dadabhai Naoroji, was a 19th-century activist who founded the Indian National Congress and was the first person of India origin who became a member of the British House of Commons. In this timely book, Dinyar Patel examines the extraordinary life of this foundational figure in India’s modern political history, a devastating critic of British colonialism who forged ties with anti-imperialists around the world and established self-rule or Swaraj as India’s objective.

Only self-rule, he declared, could remedy the economic ills brought about by British control in India. In this episode, Dinyar Patel discussed the background and details of the book with Ronojoy Sen.
