    28 October 2024

This special report explores India’s economic transformation efforts post-COVID-19, focusing on self-reliance and global integration in manufacturing, infrastructure, and sustainability. Policies from both central and state governments target increasing manufacturing’s Gross Domestic Product share from 17 per cent to 25 per cent through initiatives like production-linked incentives across sectors including semiconductors, Electrical Vehicles, and renewable energy. Infrastructure projects such as the National Infrastructure Pipeline and Gati Shakti Yojana aim to enhance connectivity and reduce logistics costs. Challenges in policy implementation, particularly at state levels, are discussed in this report, alongside opportunities for foreign investment, including from Singapore, in India’s emerging economic landscape.
